I am Aubrey J. Kauffman, a fine art photographer living and working in Ewing, New Jersey. I hold an MFA in Visual Arts from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, NJ where I was also a part-time lecturer in photography. I earned my BA in Media Arts from New Jersey City University in Jersey City, NJ. I have worked as a cinematographer shooting documentaries, news, sports and features for New Jersey Public Television, the state funded public television network.
I worked as a contributing Journalist for US1, a business and entertainment weekly based in Princeton, NJ. I’ve had teaching assignments as an adjunct instructor of photography at Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ and Mercer County Community College in West Windsor, NJ. I was a former Gallery Manager at Mason Gross Galleries at Rutgers. I was a guest curator at Rider University for “Landscapes: Social, Political, Traditional,” a photography exhibition featuring the work of Josh Brilliant, Annie Hogan, Joshua Lutz and Wendel A. White.
I am the past president of the Trenton Artists’ Workshop Association. While president of TAWA, I created “Trenton Takes: 24 Hours in the City,” a photo-documentary project that featured the work of 29 photographers who spent one 24-hour period photographing life in the city of Trenton. The result was an exhibition hosted by the Trenton City Museum at Ellarslie. I was also editor of the exhibition catalog.
I am a contributing producer for State of the Arts, an arts magazine show that is broadcast on PBS stations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and streams on All Arts. I have been twice nominated for Emmys by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences.
